Old church tower still inhabiting the lake.
Santa Catarina, Brazil.

This one is dedicated to everyone who watches my work here on DA, for all these years.

This is so creepy/cool! Do you know any of the history of that church?

Thank you :thanks:
I know it was a village with about 40 families. It started as an italian settlement in the early 20th century, gathering resources from the valley and two local rivers (which now fill the dam). The church had to be the most important building of the community, as it's often the case. The people were moved before the flooding, but they insisted in keeping the church tower there. The rest of the church was demolished.
Oh, and yes, it's very creepy!

Thanks for the info! I'm into the paranormal and ghost stories, and I'm always interested in the backstories of creepy places like this.

What's the story with the church and why is it underwater? This is really cool, yet another reason why I wish I could have seen more of Brazil than just Sao Paolo when I lived there.

I guess someone left the water running... :XD:
This area was chosen to create a reservoir and so the village was flooded. They left the tower as a reminder of the village's existence. Also check out Eerie Waters.
And yes, you should visit further down south. There's an unknown Brazil, very different from SP, which I'm sure you'd love. ;)

For a moment I thought it was the Pantà de Sau. It has a church inside it too.
